Happy Holidays 2023, Now Is The Time, Wade's Words

Driving down the road, watching TV, or trying to relax, thoughts in your head keep spinning: How long can mom stay at home? Is she safe, or does she need to be in a facility? What if some scammer calls and gets her bank info? Could we lose the house? *sigh*

One of the most common themes in long-term care planning cases is a sense of role reversal, where adult children feel concern for their parents. There is a protective concern deeply rooted in caregiving relationships when someone must assist, support, and comfort their elderly parent. They feel the pressure to make so many decisions or worry they’re not making the best decision for their parent.

Concern GROWS, but… is often reduced by getting extra support coming into the home or by finding a safe place for mom to live.
