We provide solutions to families who are overwhelmed by the challenges of managing the care of a loved one. One of the solutions we provide is the means to afford home care so that the patient can stay at home for as long as possible. This is achieved by protecting assets through the Medicaid application process for community waiver services. The result is that a steady, reliable stream of income is established so that the home health provider knows that the patient can pay for the services rendered on a sustained basis.
The community waiver is such a powerful benefit for all involved: the MCO will pay $25.00 an hour on average to the home health agency; and the allotted Medicaid dollars per applicant include up to $20,000 to upgrade the home, meals, diapers, medications, day care, respite care, and up to 60 hours per week for assistance with activities of daily living. Some patients need more than 60 hours per week of care. For the extra hours that Medicaid cannot cover, the patient can use their protected assets to self-pay. Wow ~ this is a true win-win for everyone.
