Dementia Care: Start Your Research by Calling the Right Place First

“Where do I start” is often the overwhelming question that swirls in the mind of a family caregiver of a loved one newly diagnosed with dementia. Endless hours are spent on Google looking for answers and resources.

A highly rated resource that is available 24/7 is the Delaware Valley Alzheimer’s Association Help Line: 800.272.3900. Start with a call to the Help Line and then work your way to resources from there. An agent can make specific referrals for educational resources, patient and caregiver support groups, medical providers, home health agencies, and Elder Law attorneys in your area. Also, a Master’s level care consultant is available to provide you with care planning ideas and emotional support.
